Roof renovation and roof insulation with our own master roofer

The roof protects your house – and in many older buildings it is the biggest weak point for heat loss. At Corpus Bau, our own master roofer leads all work on the roof. Scaffolding, electrical work, roof plumbing and insulation are also handled by our own specialists – whether as a single job or as part of a full renovation.

What we do on the roof

  • Roof inspection and survey: roof covering, battens, underlay, roof structure and junctions
  • Re-roofing: removal of the old covering, new battens, underlay and roof covering
  • Roof insulation: insulation between, below or above the rafters, including vapour control layer and airtight junctions
  • Roof windows and dormers: installation or renewal
  • Roof plumbing: flashings at chimneys, verges and eaves, gutters and downpipes – by our own specialists
  • Scaffolding: erected and dismantled by our own scaffolding team
  • Roof structure: load-bearing capacity checked by our engineers
  • Repairs: fixing damage to the covering and junctions

Typical situations

  • Old roof without insulation: the top floor is cold in winter and hot in summer.
  • Leaks: damp patches, slipped tiles or storm damage.
  • Loft conversion: the loft is to become living space – designed by our architects, structure checked by our engineers.
  • Buying or inheriting a house: you want to know what condition the roof is in and what needs doing.
  • Full renovation or facade insulation planned: the roof is renewed at the same time so the insulation joins up without gaps.
  • Apartment building: renewing the roof for the whole building.

Frequently asked questions about roofing

How can I tell that my roof should be renewed?

Signs include damp patches, slipped or damaged tiles, heavy moss growth, a missing underlay or an uninsulated top floor. Our master roofer assesses on site whether a repair is enough or a renewal makes sense.

Do you insulate the roof from inside or outside?

Both are possible. If the roof is being re-covered anyway, insulating from outside is often the best option. If the covering is still in good condition, it can be insulated from inside. We recommend the solution that suits your roof.

Can I live in the house during roof work?

In most cases, yes. If the roof is insulated from inside, the attic rooms cannot be used for a while.

What happens if it rains during the work?

We protect open roof areas in bad weather. We plan the work with the weather in mind.

Can I get funding for roof insulation?

Roof insulation may be eligible for funding, for example through BAFA or the tax bonus. We check with you what applies. More in the funding section.
