Insulation and energy-efficient renovation in the Ruhr area
Professional insulation reduces heat loss, protects the building fabric and makes rooms noticeably more comfortable. Corpus Bau insulates facades, roofs, basement ceilings and top-floor ceilings with our own insulation specialists. Scaffolding, roofing, ventilation, electrical work and junctions are also in our own hands – so all the work fits together cleanly.

What we insulate
- Facade: external insulation with a rendered or clad finish, including our own scaffolding, electrical work on the facade (e.g. moving outdoor lights) and junctions with windows, window sills and the roof edge
- Roof: insulation between, below or above the rafters, led by our own master roofer, see Roof
- Top-floor ceiling: walkable or non-walkable insulation if the loft is not lived in
- Basement ceiling: insulation from below so that ground-floor floors stay warmer
- Windows and doors: replacement and airtight installation, matched to the new insulation layer
- Ventilation: ventilation concept and ventilation systems by our own specialists when the tighter building envelope requires it
- Planning and completion: site survey, building-physics coordination by our engineers, substrate preparation, junction details, acceptance
Typical situations
- Older building with high heating demand: rooms cool down quickly, walls and floors feel cold.
- Buying or inheriting an older property: you want to bring the house up to a better energy standard before moving in – or retrofit obligations apply after the change of ownership.
- Full renovation planned: if a comprehensive renovation is happening anyway, insulation is planned in from the start.
- Apartment building: facade and roof are to be renewed for all flats together.
- Uninsulated loft or basement: often a manageable first step.
- Heating replacement planned: a better building envelope helps size the new heating correctly – we coordinate this with our established heating partners.
How insulation with us works
Site visit and survey
We look at the facade, roof, basement and windows, take measurements and discuss which parts make sense to tackle first.
Written quote and construction schedule
You receive a written quote listing the individual measures – so you can also decide step by step – and a construction schedule.
Check funding
Before the contract is awarded, we clarify with you which funding route is available.
Carried out by
Scaffolding, substrate, insulation, electrical work, junctions and finish – by our own specialists, coordinated by our site management. You can follow the progress regularly in “My Project”.
Handover
Joint acceptance and handover of the documents.

Funding
Funding for your renovation
The German state subsidises insulation and energy-efficient renovation. We’ll work out together which route suits your house when we visit.
Whether funding is granted, and how much, depends on the individual case.
- BAFA grant for the building envelope:15 % on insulating the roof, facade and floor ceilings, and on new windows and doors.1
- iSFP bonus:With an individual renovation roadmap (iSFP), eligible costs rise to up to €60,000 for the first residential unit, plus a 5 % bonus on the part above €30,000.1
- Tax bonus under § 35c EStG:As an alternative to the grant, 20 % of the costs spread over three years, up to €40,000, for owner-occupied houses older than ten years.2 You receive the certificate you need through us.

What you can prepare for the first appointment
- Year of construction, living space and number of storeys
- Building plans or documents, if available
- Energy performance certificate or individual renovation roadmap, if available
- Heating bills from recent years
- Information about earlier work (window replacement, roof renovation, heating)
- Whether you live in the house yourself or let it – important for funding
- Photos of the facade, loft and basement
Frequently asked questions about insulation
Which insulation is worth doing first?
That depends on the building. The top-floor ceiling and basement ceiling are often a manageable start; facade and roof are bigger jobs. After the site survey we recommend an order that suits your house.
Do I need new windows after insulating?
Not necessarily. But windows and insulation must match each other so that no thermal bridges or moisture problems arise. We check this during planning.
Does insulation cause mould?
Not if it is properly planned and installed. What matters are clean junctions, an airtight layer and a suitable ventilation concept. Because planning, insulation and ventilation are all in-house with us, we coordinate these points from the start.
Can I live in the house during insulation work?
For the facade, basement ceiling and top-floor ceiling, usually yes. If the roof is insulated from inside, the attic rooms cannot be used for a while. We discuss this in advance.
Do I need an energy consultant?
Some funding routes require an accredited energy efficiency expert, for example for an individual renovation roadmap. We’ll tell you whether that is necessary in your case.
Do I have to apply for funding before awarding the contract?
For many funding programmes, the application must be submitted before you award the contract. That is why we clarify funding in our very first conversation.
