FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Here you’ll find answers to the questions we are asked most often. Your question isn’t here? Call us on 0231 58 69 26 07 or write to us using the enquiry form.

Which area do you cover?

We work in Dortmund and the Ruhr area. If your property is a little further away, just ask.

Which work do you do yourselves?

Our focus is full renovation and insulation. With our own specialists we handle roofing (with our own master roofer), insulation and sealing, ventilation, electrical, plumbing and roof plumbing, tiling and flooring, and scaffolding. Two architects and two engineers work directly in our company, and we have our own materials purchasing. We install heating systems with established specialist partners.

Who is behind Corpus Bau?

Corpus Bau is part of Corpus Callosum Dienstleistungsgesellschaft mbH in Dortmund. Our founder Ümit Ünsal has been delivering building projects since 2010 and brings 16 years of construction experience.

How does a project with Corpus Bau work?

In four steps: advice and site survey, a written quote with construction schedule, site management during construction and a joint handover. One dedicated contact guides you through every step.

Will you come to me for a site visit?

Yes. A reliable quote is only possible once we have seen the property. We arrange the appointment after your enquiry.

How is the quote put together?

After the site survey we prepare a written quote listing all services by trade. You also receive a construction schedule with the individual phases.

How do I find out how far my project has got?

For every project we set up a dedicated, protected project page: “My Project”. There you’ll find the construction schedule, regular reports from site management with photos, and a progress bar.

Is there funding for my renovation?

Full renovations and insulation may be eligible for funding, for example through BEG/KfW, BAFA or the tax bonus. We check with you what applies to your project. You’ll find an overview in the funding section on the home page.

How long does a renovation take?

That depends on the building, the scope and the trades involved. Together with the quote you receive a construction schedule for your property.

Can I live in the house during the renovation?

That depends on the work. With facade or basement-ceiling insulation it is usually possible; with a full renovation, usually not. In apartment buildings the work can often be done section by section. We discuss this before we start.

Do you also work for landlords and owners’ associations?

Yes. We also renovate apartment buildings for landlords and owners’ associations – section by section if you wish, for example flat by flat when tenants change.

What should I prepare for the first meeting?

Useful are the year of construction, living space, any existing plans, an energy performance certificate and photos. Your wishes and preferred time frame help us too. You can enter much of this directly in the enquiry form.
